Program Overview
The Discovering Better Choices program is designed to reach clients who are engaged in self-defeating behaviors and educates clients about themselves and teaches positive life skills. This is a general offender program, helping clients realize a sense of responsibility and respect for themselves and others. The course focuses primarily on ethics clarification (where our beliefs and attitudes come from), impulse control and self-esteem building. Discovering Better Choices incorporates Cognitive Behavioral approaches and Social Learning Theory to create a positive and diverse environment for understanding behaviors and motivations.
The interactive approach allows clients to identify their core beliefs and discover the reasons behind many of their negative and problematic behaviors. Participants will leave with positive alternatives and a better understanding of themselves.
Topics Include: Ethics and Values Clarification Costs and Legal Issues Impulse Control Boundary Setting Self-Esteem Building Life Skills Anger Management
Format:. I.S.A.E. will accommodate all indigent clients as determined by the referring agency. Clients must submit a 300-word essay to the referral source within 1 week of attending.
Who should attend? Clients requiring ethics clarification training. Juvenile and adult clients receiving tickets for misdemeanor cases. Anyone needing a life-skills or self-discovery course.MapContactI.S.A.E 303-433-1900
