Class Description
THERAPEUTICALLY DESIGNED FOR JUVENILES AND ADULTS NEEDING A MORE INTENSIVE PROGRAM FOR THEFT
Program Overview
Repeat Offender Petty Theft is a powerful seminar utilizing a variety of learning activities and experiential techniques to reach juveniles and adults dealing with repeat theft issues.
By identifying and addressing the developmental needs of clients exhibiting patterns of high-risk behavior, the program teaches juveniles and adults to become responsible for their own thoughts, feelings and actions.
Repeat Offender Petty Theft Program adheres to the philosophy that many behavioral problems are consistent with the client's beliefs about themselves and their surroundings. Self-defeating behaviors often result from thoughts generated from core beliefs and feelings. Offending clients often isolate and distance themselves from their family and social structures and tend to identify with peers who support their self-defeating behaviors. The highly structured techniques used in this program assist clients in identifying their core beliefs and provides them with the nurturing support and mentoring necessary to change negative behavior. Using a number of techniques from counseling modalities, the program is designed to reach the resistant client, assist them in identifying motives for offending behavior and teach healthy, socially acceptable behaviors.
