Class Description
ANGER MANAGEMENT AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION FOR JUVENILES AND ADULTS
Program Overview
A progressive and innovative approach to anger management and conflict resolution, Violence is Preventable is designed to teach adults and juveniles new ways of behaving and responding to the world they live in. By exploring the reasons for their violent behaviors and learning new ways to think and act, clients are given the means to change hostile ideation and aggressive behavior, develop empathy for others and prevent situations from escalating.
Built from a combination of Motivational Interviewing, Social Learning Theory and Cognitive Behavioral intervention strategies, clients discover the behaviors and belief systems to which they have been socially conditioned. This helps individuals learn the reason for many of their problematic behaviors. Violence is Preventable teaches participants alternative behaviors and attitudes, including assertiveness, communication, rational thinking and ways to let go of anger and control stress.
