TEEN TRUANCY AND DROPOUT PREVENTION
TRUANCY IS ONLY A SYMPTOM OF THE REAL REASON FOR WHY TEENS ARE NOT ATTENDING SCHOOL. I.S.A.E.'S TRUANCY AND DROPOUT PRENVENTION PROGRAM FACILITATES OPEN COMMUNICATION WITHIN FAMILIES IN A SUPPORTIVE, OBJECTIVE AND NON-THREATENING ENVIRONMENT.
Program Overview
Teen Truancy and Dropout Prevention is a powerful seminar utilizing a variety of learning activities and experiential techniques to reach juveniles and their parents dealing with low school performance.
Clients exhibiting patterns of poor school attendance will develop incentives to decrease truant behavior, discuss school and family issues that may be leading to lower self-esteem, discover their personal learning styles and examine future career interests.
The program adheres to the philosophy that many issues are consistent with the client's belief about themselves and surroundings. Self-defeating behaviors often result from thoughts generated from core beliefs and feelings. Clients playing truant from school create an environment that is isolating, distancing themselves from their families and positive social structures. Truant teens gravitate toward peers who are supportive of their self-defeating behaviors. The highly structured techniques used in this program assist clients not only in identifying their core beliefs, but also in providing them with the nurturing support and mentoring necessary to change negative behavior. This extended one-day program uses techniques from a number of counseling modalities designed to reach the resistive client, raise the client's awareness of the motives for acting out particular behaviors and offers positive alternatives to those behaviors.
