North Metro Youth Diversion Program
Registration Instructions
Teen Program Young Adult Program

You have been issued a citation for an alcohol possession/consumption offense, a possession of drug paraphernalia offense or a misdemeanor drug related offense. You are directed to contact the Institute for Substance Abuse Education - Court Related Education Programs (I.S.A.E.), 2480 W. 26th Ave., Ste. 80-B, Denver, CO 80211, 303.433.1900 or toll free 1.888.565.1900 within seventy-two (72) hours of receiving this citation to determine your eligibility for the North Metro Youth Diversion Program. If you are found to be eligible and complete the program in its entirety, the alcohol offense, possession of drug paraphernalia offense or misdemeanor drug related offense will be dismissed. If you have charges in addition to those referenced above, you must appear on your court date for those charge(s).

Upon contacting I.S.A.E., your eligibility for the North Metro Youth Diversion Program will be determined. If you are eligible and agree to accept the full conditions of the program, you must schedule a date to attend. If you are under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must attend with you. If you are over the age of 18 years and have a parent, guardian or other responsible adult who wishes to attend, you may register for the two-day program. Otherwise, you will attend the one-day alone.

The program must be completed prior to the court date written on your citation. If you successfully complete the program and are under the age of 18 years, you must appear with a parent, guardian or other responsible adult at the referring municipal court on or before your court date with a certificate of completion from I.S.A.E. The referring municipality will dismiss the alcohol possession/ consumption offense, drug paraphernalia offense or other drug related offense. If you do not successfully complete the program, you will need to appear on the court date as specified on your citation. Should you be found guilty of the violation(s) charged, your driver's license may be subject to revocation, in addition to payment of fines and/or other conditions as determined by the municipal court.

It is your responsibility to make sure you have completed the program prior to the arraignment date listed on your citation. For this reason, it is critical that you contact I.S.A.E. within the 72 hour time period. Failure to contact I.S.A.E. and make arrangements to attend and complete the program may mean you will no longer be eligible for the North Metro Youth Diversion Program and you must appear in court on your arraignment date.
